THE LITTLE DOOR ( See Dining)
|
BEL AIR HOTEL BAR AND GARDEN 701 STONE CAYNON RD., LOS ANGELES (BEL AIR) (310)472-1211
| The drive into the hotel alone makes you feel like you’ve entered a paradise of sorts. The lovely and remote gardens clear your thoughts and let you focus on the beauty all around you (not for nothing, it’s a hot wedding site). Have lunch outside poolside, or on the patio where the feel is slightly formal and upscale. It’s very George Hamilton, with all the rich tan crispy people milling about. This is a place you can model your ascot and fit in just fine. | |
| BACK TO THE BEACH | |
| A sunset cocktail and early dinner on the beach overlooking the Pacific Ocean works for me. Overwhelmingly romantic in it’s simplicity. Not a lot of locals have caught on to this gem of a spot. | |

GOEFFREY’S 27400 PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY, MALIBU (310)457-1519
| Yes, it’s overpriced, and no, it’s not a terribly hot spot in terms of a scene, but it is breathtaking. Take your date to lunch or dinner on the terrace overlooking the shore, share a bottle of vino, and stare into each others eyes. Watch the surfer dudes ride the rad Malibu waves as you seduce your mate with Cali’s most persuasive aphrodisiac, the seaside. | |

CAFÉ DELFINI WEST CHANNEL RD., PACIFIC PALISADES
| A tiny, romantic, authentic Italian restaurant. Simple and not too pricey. Great pastas and it’s a block from the beach. |
