***NEW*** MAYA’S 108 WAINSCOTT STONE HWY. AND ROUTE 27 WAINSCOTT, NY 516-537-2764
| Yes darlings, this is the very same Maya’s as the wildly popular restaurant on St. Barths. Thanks to their well heeled following, Maya’s in East Hampton is fast becoming the place to see and be seen. Only Maya and Randy could transplant an entire staff, all the way from St. Barths, and pull it off with panache. They opened in July and it is already buzzing! Debbie digs the bar scene where the cool crowd mingles over intriguing Thai/Asian inspired appetizers and fine wines. Ask Telly, the adorable bartender, to mix up one of his special fresh pepper martinis! (It was created for yours truly for the very first time last night!) It’s a hot looking crowd all the way around. If the Sexy little French waiters and waitresses don’t get your heart pounding, the fabulous food will! | |

***NEW*** THE INDEPENDENT 246 MAIN ST. BRIDGEHAMPTON (516)537-5110
| Well, Debbie has found her official home away from home! After many, many a-night of diligent research, Bridgehampton's Independent takes home the Gold Rolex Award for best bar scene and restaurant. Is it the totally gorgeous crowd that keeps this girl coming back for more? Or is it the fabulous fresh watermelon martinis? Or the totally hot (and hospitable) manager Michael? Or could it be the oyster shooters (which are rumored to be the scene-sters substitute for Viagra)? Did I mention the melt in your mouth, seared tuna and sumptuous shrimp cocktail? But be forewarned, bring a date and you run the risk of frequent mad dashes to the "rest room" (did I mention that hot looking model in line for the loo?!). Make your weekend reservations in advance as this place is the place to see and be seen. Looking for your future ex-husband or wife? Look no further, plant yourself at the bar and let the interviews begin!…. Weekdays are slightly less hectic, perfect for an intimate dinner for two, or for some "meaningful conversation" with a stunning stranger…The look? Sexy and sophisticated, it's all about tight trouser, knee-length side-slitted skirts and stilettos for the girls. Men serve up sporty/casual in dark hues, rich fabrics and tasteful, yet expensive timepieces. | |

NICK AND TONI’S 136 N. MAIN ST., EAST HAMPTON (516) 324-3550
| Hollywood meets the Hampton’s in this new money-esque institution. And having been open 10 years in the land of the ultra fickle, it’s a title well deserved. Sure, not only is the Italian fare is fab and it is nearly impossible to book unless you’re Brooke (that’s a good thing, these days with the TV hit, and all), but it is the spot in town to catch up with the see-and-be-seen scene…..Debbie dines there every weekend, darling, and suggests you do the same! Reserve weeks in advance, if you must. Dinner and Sunday brunch. | |

THE PALM THE HUNTTING INN 94 MAIN ST., EAST HAMPTON (516) 324-0411
| This Hampton outpost of the infamous world-wide chain exceeds expectations in my humble (okay, not so humble) opinion. There’s something intriguing about seeing the big city Palm scenesters dining on the same scrumptious dishes (lobsters, steaks, mashed potatoes, yummy spinach) minus the business drag…Ever wonder what corporate heads look like at high-end summer camp…. Stroll into the Palm and get your fill of steak, as well as a whole other kind of meat. Beefcakes abound at the Palm, and I am not talking burgers, baby! Needless to say, Debbie’s down!! Dinner only. | |

THE FARMHOUSE 341 MONTAUK HIGHWAY, EAST HAMPTON (516) 324-8585
| The most famous spot for boasting both the oldest bar in town, as well as the best Martini’s around…Just beware of the Jackson Pollack 8 ouncer (yes, martini) which is likely to knock you on your ass (After all, Pollack supposedly was knockin’ back a few at the bar just before his fatal crash in ‘56). A must-have is the summer sea salad, which Debbie lived on last season (light, refreshing, yummy!). The food rocks and the seven dining rooms are very Ralph Lauren….The Farmhouse is just what Debbie’s doctor orders for the ultimate in relaxed-elegance repose! In other words, it’s quintessential Hampton’s. Dinner only. | |
|
ALISON BY THE BEACH 3593 MONTAUK HIGHWAY, SAGAPONACK (516) 537-7100
| Looking for steak frites to die for? You found your beachy post that, however, is not right on the beach as the name might imply. You know you’re on safe culinary ground being it’s brought to you by the same kids as Alison on Dominick (one of Debbie’s favorite romantic boites in the big city!) Alison boasts a more than sufficient wine list and be sure to check out the summer soups and fresh fish dishes…. Dinner only. | |
|
SUNSET BEACH 37 SHORE RD., SHELTER ISLAND HEIGHTS (516) 749-3000
| Think of it as the poor man’s St. Bart’s…and considering how rich everyone is there, this ain’t a bad second fiddle! But seriously folks, we’re talking the place rocks on in that sunset/cocktail type of way. Despite it’s simpleton Aaron Spelling-esque name, the place is quite spectacular, bringing to mind a high-end tree house hideaway from some old Bond flick….The Island music will get you in the mood as you watch the sun set, while sipping perfectly prepared exotic drinks and eating some of the best food around. If you’re all about meat, carnivores swear by the steak. Fish lovers…fish no further…you’ve found your catch. If you’re looking to ‘catch’ something else, it can be quite couple oriented, but well worth the view. Unfortunately, its location? Shelter Island, so you’ve got to take the ferry. Getting here is kind of a haul, so make sure you dig your date! No dine and ditch option here. |
