Roasters Coffee and Tea Company The Bodhi Cafe Cafe Vittoria Garden of Eden Dunkin Donuts
|
ROASTERS COFFEE AND TEA COMPANY 85 NEWBURY ST., BOSTON (617)867-9967
| A perfectly civilized little spot where the chic and the intellectuals slowly sip their café lattes. Not much food here except some tiny pastries. An easy place for women on their own to read the paper and rest the feet after an exhausting shopping spree at the Akris Boutique and Armani store across the street. | |
|
THE BODHI CAFÉ 335 NEWBURY ST., BOSTON (617)536-6977
| Debbie does the Bodhi on a weekly basis. It’s a weekend ritual and the only "natural" option in the area. Less about coffee and more about killer bagels, home made soups, sandwiches and smoothies. Bodhi is filled with an eclectic mix of Berkley school of Music and North Eastern U. students and yuppies. It is the only place in town for those Lactose intolerant types who still have a hankering for a bagel with cream cheese and a cup o’joe. Thank God for the Bodhi and its non-dairy cream cheese. For the rest of you…there’s a million choices of cream cheeses to pick from. People here all eat at one long counter/bar that runs the length of the place. | |

CAFFE VITTORIA 294 HANOVER STREET, THE NORTH END (617)227-7606
| The Caffe Vittoria is the nerve center of the North End…the Italian section of Boston. It stays open late and is the perfect place to grab a cappuccino and a canolli. You’ll feel like you’re back in Italy, just add the gold chains and some cheesy after hours club goers and you’ve got the picture. A colorful late night pit stop. | |
|
THE GARDEN OF EDEN TREMONT STREET, THE SOUTH END
| The Garden of Eden is truly "Eden". A charming café in the heart of the South End, its cases are filled with delicious prepared salads and lunch dishes. Hearty sandwiches are piled high on fresh baked bread and the breakfast pastries are to die for. Yeah, they’ve got the coffee thing covered but come here for breakfast or lunch. Suddenly, you’ll find yourself chatting it up with the friendly owner or even a gay couple at the next table. | |
| DUNKIN' DONUTS | |
| Scattered about Boston in good neighborhoods and bad is the ultimate Boston institution: Dunkin’ Donuts. For real coffee at normal prices and some of the best donuts on the planet this is the only honest game in town. It’s fabulously "scene-less" and comes complete with truck drivers and homeless types. |
