THE LOWDOWN
Meet our Atlanta Contributor, Jana Stewart
Dubbed as a mini Hollywood, Atlanta is rapidly moving up the ranks as the party central capital of the world. With celebrities buying homes everyday and the Superbowl headed here in 2000, you better get in on the action now. One thing to remember about Atlanta, it’s so spread out that even those with the same area code may live an hour away. But thanks to Debbie, you don’t have to worry about getting caught up in all the madness. While Atlanta has many areas that rock, you darlings will be lucky enough to have access to THE hottest. The Highlands – an artsy area where the more laid back crowd dines and checks out the latest art work while sipping on cappuccino. Lots of salons line the street as well as art shops, clothing stores, and quaint little diners. While it’s not the place to get down and party, it’s perfect for a relaxing day of shopping, eating, and pampering ala Debbie. Buckhead’s where the fashionably elite meet and rock it on down. Anything goes, the party starts around 5:00 and ends whenever you want it to. There’s no pressure to dress like a New York fashion model or step out in barely nothing like the South Beachers (don’t get me wrong, dress to impress – just look like you’re not trying too hard). Everyone from big time execs to co-eds meet here to socialize, network, and have a few. And kids, it doesn’t have to be an occasion for this area to get packed like Mardi Gras, Thursday to Sunday brings forth the best of the best to eat, drink, party, and be merry. There’s so much to do that you’ll never get bored and there’s no such thing as idle time. So come on, join the fun and glam it up, because this city knows how to get down.
