Einstein's Joe's On Jupiter Backstreet Atlanta Atlanta Gay Pride Festival |
| Like strip clubs, you can find a Gay joint on every corner, but that does not mean you’re going to have a good time just because you may think you’re in your element. My good bud Joey who’s more into fashion than I am (believe it or not!), not to mention dresses better than I do (yeah, right!), says that he opts to avoid the gay only establishments. Joey, who’s a Debbie Girl at heart, chooses to hit the spots were gays frequent. Joey likes to be around a certain caliber of people (I guess stepping out the house everyday in $1500 Christian Lacroix ensembles and jewels from Tiffany’s, you’d be picky, too). Midtown is an area heavily populated by more of the snooty gay boys who have more attitude than a New York drag queen. Here’s where Joey and the boys hang out: | |

EINSTEIN’S 1077 JUNIPER ST. MIDTOWN (404) 876-7925
| Located in the heart of Midtown, this quaint little bistro is more than what meets the eye. Heavily populated by the oh-so-prim and proper gay crowd, you better step in there on your best behavior and in your best threads. This is the type of place that will have you acting like a snob even if you’re not. Most come and chill out on the patio and enjoy the "sight seeing". Every time Debbie walks in, she feels like she’s being critiqued from head to toe, and of course darlings, that doesn’t bother me, I’m always ready. I dare you to turn it out better than I, bitch!! The lunch menu is great and that bartender can mix up a tough fruity concoction. BACK TO TOP | |

JOE’S ON JUNIPER 1049 JUNIPER ST. MIDTOWN (404) 875-6634
| Another café on Juniper Street, this one sits down the street from Einstein’s. It caters to the same crowd and the food here is delish. But what dish could be more delish than the abundance of hot boys? The bartenders here mix up great drinks and the patio allows you to enjoy a relaxing summer day while soaking up the sun. BACKSTREET ATLANTA 845 PEACHTREE ST. ATLANTA (404) 873-1986 | |
| If you’re looking for an all night party, this is it, Freaks! It’s Atlanta’s only (decent) 24-hour nightclub. The action here never stops and neither do the Drag shows. That’s right, ShowTime’s are Thursday’s & Sunday’s @ 1:00 a.m. and Friday’s & Saturday’s @ 11:00 p.m. The crowd here consists of straight and gays. The crowds come to have a good time and a wild party. Oh yeah, baby, it’s a Debbie must do! BACK TO TOP | |
| ATLANTA GAY PRIDE FESTIVAL | |
| Rock on out at the nation’s second largest Gay Pride Festival. Usually sometime in June (check back next year for specific dates), it kicks off in Piedmont Park and there are a variety of activities that take place… blues, jazz, and gospel concerts, cabarets, commitment ceremonies, and youth / Family programs, as well as a multitude of other festivities. The Dyke March led by the Dancing Drumming Dykes draws women from all over – definitely a sight to be seen - and involves an evening of predominantly lesbian activity! The Gay pride week finale is usually concluded with a parade that takes over Peachtree Street. BACK TO TOP | |
| Clubs in Atlanta come and go like relationships, one minute they’re on, the next, they’re not; you show up and get a door slammed in your face. Stick with Debbie and get the lowdown. At la moment, these are the ones that are hot. Rock on, kiddies! |
