The Atlanta Fish Market Chops and the Lobster Bar Pano's and Paul's Dish Maggiano's Little Italy The Palm Restaurant Sambuca Jazz Cafe |
|
THE ATLANTA FISH MARKET 265 PHARR RD. BUCKHEAD (404) 262-3165
| The ultimate feast for seafood lovers, the Atlanta Fish Market is the place to be. Located in the heart of Buckhead, it can’t possible be missed considering the 65 foot cooper fish that sits out front. Reservations are a must or you could end up waiting a lifetime (unless you work the maitre d’). Although this place stays packed at all times, the "IT" crowd (VP’s, executives, investors) can usually be found Thursday – Sunday. If you can’t get a reservation, arrive an hour and a half before you plan to eat and just hang-out at the Bar, (who knows, one of the handsome VP’s may send you a drink.) The seafood is exceptionally fresh and for those of you who are extremely finicky (like yours truly), you can hand pick what piece of meat you want. If only dating was this easy! Favorites are the whole catfish (don’t be embarrassed to ask for the head to be cut off, unless you’re into that sort of thing) and the blackened Mahi-Mahi. Open until midnight on weekends. | |

CHOPS AND THE LOBSTER BAR 70 WEST PACES FERRY RD. BUCKHEAD (404) 262-2675
| Debbie needs to be seen, darling and this is where she does it! Since it’s grand opening in 1989, Chops has consistently been ranked one of the country’s top 10 steak houses attracting some of Atlanta’s biggest bold-faced names. With it’s dim lighting and somewhat snot-nosed hostesses, you are sure to feel like part of the elite. I had the pleasure of dining with Elton John (ok, ok, he sat at the table next me!!!). But for those of you who don’t have my charm and charisma, you may get a glimpse of Heather Locklear, Evander Holyfield, or Jack Nicholson, all of whom frequent Chops when they drop in town. The food is mouth-watering and the service is impeccable. The 3-tier appetizer, which includes fried lobster, oysters, and shrimp will set your rocks on fire. For dinner, the Yellow Fin Tuna (delicious) is a must as are reservations. Chops is located on the first floor and the Lobster Bar on the second. And PLEASE people, dress the part! So what if you’re not a celebrity, model, stockbroker or artist!!! Have you heard the old saying "when in Rome,……"??? Don’t even think about wearing jeans and sneakers, because if you do, the closest you will come to the Chops experience is what you are reading now. You’ve got it, the dress code is strictly enforced, and anyway, would you really want to run into Jack not looking your best??? | |

PANO’S AND PAUL’S 1232 W. PACES FERRY ROAD BUCKHEAD (404) 261-3662
| Known as the standard for luxury dining, Pano’s and Paul’s elegant environment has not changed one bit over the years (a good thing). Chef Peter Kaiser is back and the food is as fab as ever. Try the pommes soufflés and crepes Suzette and you’re sure to become a regular fast. Like any hot restaurant, reservations are strongly suggested, my little scene-sters! | |
|
DISH 870 N. HIGHLAND AVE. THE HIGHLANDS (404) 897-3463
| Just when you thought Buckhead was the only place that’s hot; Dish pops up in the Highlands and kills that theory dead! The décor alone is enough to draw a crowd. The atmosphere is so ahead of the Atlanta curve that it draws some of Atlanta’s most fashionable on a regular basis. Reservations are suggested, especially if you want to sit outside on the patio. However, the bar scene is hot, so it couldn’t hurt to check it out while waiting for a table. Have the roasted vegetable lasagna, excellent!!!!!! | |

MAGGIANO’S LITTLE ITALY 3368 PEACHTREE RD. BUCKHEAD (404) 816-9650
| This little Italy style restaurant truly serves us a feast. It’s one of Mariah Carey’s favorite spots when she comes to town; how does that girl pack it away (hate her!)? Try the Rigatoni, Rosemary Chicken, or Salmon Oreganata. Reservations are suggested and they’re the ideal spot if you have a large group. | |
|
THE PALM RESTURANT 3391 PEACHTREE RD. BUCKHEAD (404) 365-0065
| A little Hollywood right here in Atlanta. Have a great time dining at this fun, classy restaurant inside one of the ritziest, glitziest Hotels in Atlanta. Billy Crystal, Robin Williams, and Morgan Fairchild are among the long list of regulars, alongside yours truly. There known for their juicy steaks and jumbo-sized lobster, I know I keep running back for more. | |

SAMBUCA JAZZ CAFÉ 3102 PIEDMONT AVENUE BUCKHEAD (404) 237-5299
| Great Food, Great Music, Great Crowd!!!!! Need I say more? With live Jazz 7 nights a week, you can’t go wrong at Sambuca Jazz Café. The atmosphere is very upscale and attracts a rather posh type of crowd (no spice girls allowed). Lots of businessmen/women bring their clients here for a nice relaxing evening. It’s also a great pick up spot, with a huge bar ready for cruising, as well as another sitting area where you can not only check out the band, but the hottie patrons also. It gets pretty crowded on weekends so reservations are recommended. |
